An accurate measurement is essential when you order an Inset Frame or a St Ives Frame. This short guide shows how to measure your canvas board.

Step-by-step measuring guide
- Lay the canvas board flat. Put it on a clean, level, hard surface, not a bed or a soft table.
- Measure the width. Use a metal tape measure and measure at the widest point, from side to side.
- Measure the height. Measure from top to bottom at the tallest point. Always work in millimetres (mm).
- Double-check everything. Write both measurements down clearly before you order.
Tip: never trust the packaging! The sizes printed on labels or packaging are often approximate only. Always measure the canvas board yourself, so that you do not order the wrong size of frame.
