A photo mount (also called a picture mount or matboard) is the elegant coloured border that surrounds your artwork or photo inside the frame. While entirely optional, we strongly recommend adding a mount for most pieces - it dramatically enhances the visual appeal of your artwork and provides important conservation benefits by creating a protective space between the image and the glazing.

Are the colours accurate?
Yes - we use a spectrophotometer to scan the board to get the colour code. Howvever, your screen settings, and the way colour is displayed, may make the colour appear differently.

White Core Range
The white core range is classified by the Fine Art Trade Guild as suitable for Level 3 (Mid Level- previously known as Commended Level) Framing. This means the range is suitable for replaceable artwork of limited commercial and/or moderate sentimental value and where visual appearance is important. The boards are acid free and the white bevel will not discolour over time.

The board is the same colour throughout so the bevel will be the same colour as the front of the mount.
