Hanging Your Frame

Important Note: Check your new aluminium frame for any damage before dismantling. We only accept claims for obvious damage reported before use.

Tools and Preparation

Your aluminium picture frame includes glazing(other options available), an MDF backing board, and all necessary hanging fixtures.

1. Preparation

Ensure your artwork and mount are fully prepared and ready.

2. Place frame face down

On a clean, soft surface to protect the frame and glazing.

3. Tools needed

Have a small flat-head screwdriver ready (essential for corner brackets and spring clips).

Understanding Aluminium Frame Assembly

Corners may appear slightly misaligned when first received — this is normal and will be corrected during assembly.

Step-by-Step Fitting Guide

1. Opening the Frame

Use the screwdriver to slacken two corner brackets and release the spring clips. Be careful with the spring clips as they will ping up if you do not remove them before releasing the moulding length.

2. Releasing Clips & Brackets

Remove the glazing and backing by sliding it out of the remaining moulding pieces.

Prepare The Glazing

Remove the protective film from both sides of the acrylic.

  1. Wipe both sides and edges with a microfibre cloth to reduce static.
  2. Peel film slowly from outer edge inward.
  3. Handle acrylic only by the edges.
  4. Place cleaned glazing back into the frame (anti-reflective side facing outwards if applicable).
Anti-Reflective Glazing: The coated side must face outwards to absorb light reflections effectively.

Fitting The Artwork

  1. Position Artwork: Sandwich your artwork between the acrylic and MDF backing, then slide into the frame.
  2. Reassemble: Refit the removed moulding length and tighten screws.
  3. Secure: Push spring clips back into position.
  4. Final Check: Inspect from the front for dust and alignment.

Aligning the Corners

If corners are not perfectly aligned, slightly loosen the corner screws, adjust the mitres, and retighten.

Fitting Hanging Fixtures

Aluminium frames use special hanging brackets that slide into the profile. Position one on each side, approximately 1/3 from the top, and tighten the screw. Thread the cord through the brackets and tie securely.

Final Thoughts

Following these steps will give your artwork a secure, professional, and long-lasting finish in its aluminium frame.
