To purchase either a traditional canvas frame or a canvas floater frame, you must measure your stretched canvas correctly.
Place the canvas on a clean, level, and hard surface, avoiding beds or soft tables. Ensure the front of the canvas isn't scratched by another object.
Measure each diagonal - top left to bottom right and top right to bottom left. If there is a notable discrepancy in the diagonal measurements, it may indicate that the canvas is distorted.
Measure the width and height at three different points across the front - always measure in millimetres. Record the largest measurement for both width and height.
Measure and record the depth of the canvas. This measurement is particularly crucial when ordering canvas floater frames, as you will need to choose a frame with an internal depth that close to the depth of your canvas.
Printed sizes on labels or packaging are often approximate only. Always measure the canvas yourself to avoid ordering the wrong size frame.
Never use a fabric and plastic tape measure as they are notoriously inaccurate.
Double check, Triple check, get someone else to check. Make sure the sizes are correct as custom-made items are not eligible for a refund or exchange.
Need help? If you're still unsure about your measurements, feel free to contact our customer service team with a photo of your canvas, and we'll be happy to advise.
