A photo or print with the image right to its edges (borderless) needs measuring with care. This guide takes you through it, so that your frame and mount fit.

Tools required
- Metal tape measure
- A flat, clean surface
- Pen and paper
Step-by-step measuring
- Prepare the workspace. Lay the photo or print on a flat, clean surface with space around it.
- Flatten the print. Make sure the print lies completely flat, with no curling or bending at the edges.
- Measure the width. Measure from edge to edge at the widest point with a metal tape measure.
- Measure the height. Measure from top to bottom at the tallest point. Always work in millimetres.
- Double-check. Measure both dimensions twice, or ask someone else to check them.

1:11 - Ordering frames and mounts
- Frame only: The rebate overlaps the print by about 5mm on each side.
- Frame and mount: The mount overlaps the print by 3mm on each side.
- Do not choose "Exact Size" for the mount if you want an overlap.
Additional tips
Handle prints carefully, and keep dirty or greasy fingers off the image surface.
Accurate measuring is the basis of a well-fitting frame. Take your time and measure twice.
