45mm Dark Grey Stain Tray Frame

A 45mm wide profile, with a total depth of 32mm, that has a Dark grey stain finish with the wood grain showing through. This style of moulding is called ‘cassetta’, the term cassetta is Italian and translates to 'little box'. Cassetta frames are characterised by their box-like structure, featuring an inner and outer moulding separated by a flat frieze or band. This design creates a recessed central panel, giving the frame a distinct profile. These frames were commonly used for panel paintings during the Renaissance, emphasising the artwork within a well-defined border.
