There are a hundred and one ways to hang made-to-measure picture frames so that they make an impact. Here are the ones our customers have had most success with.
Choose your framing style
If you want to refresh a feature wall or make a lasting impression on guests, frames from Easyframe are a sure way to make a statement. As we've said in earlier posts, black and white frames are a classic combination that catches the eye and gives artwork a crisp, classy finish. You can also mix things up with bright colours or metal frames of all shapes and sizes.
Use a picture ledge
Most people hang their pictures neatly on the wall, but no rule says you must. A picture ledge shows your artwork from a different angle, and more and more people favour it because you don't have to nail anything to the wall. You can move pieces as often as you like. For a relaxed look, mix frame sizes and overlap the pictures, trying different combinations until one works.
Mix it up
A wall of different frames isn't to everyone's taste, but it becomes interesting when the frames are chosen to complement one another. Break it up with other items, such as mirrors or inspirational quotes. Keep the frames one colour, or find colours that work together. Don't go mad with lots of colours, because the wall needs to hold together as a whole.
Work with existing features
If the wall already has a television or fireplace, make it part of the display. Place rectangular frames around it so that the TV or fireplace reads as one element of the arrangement. Getting the pieces to sit together well takes some experimenting, but the result can have real wow factor.
Make a hallway gallery
Most of us have stairs, and most of us leave them to do their job and nothing more. That's surprising, given how often we go up and down them and how much wall goes unused. Treat it as a blank canvas and fill it with framed photographs of you and your family. You could arrange them as a timeline of your children, from babies to graduation. It adds personality and gives you something unique.
Choose your accessories wisely
Framed artwork stands out more when you give thought to what's around it. Say you have a white feature wall, as many people do. Black and white frames work perfectly if the nearby accessories are in similar colours. Black lamps placed symmetrically around the area look very stylish.
Be bold
You don't have to fill the wall. Sometimes less is more, and two or three powerful images make a strong statement. Just make sure they are beautifully framed.
