A Message from the Designer

You've found our brand new **Layout Designer** that lets you create complex multi-aperture mounts by simply dragging and dropping the openings exactly where you want them.

It's a game-changing tool - but because it's still very new, you might occasionally run into a small bug or two. We're working hard to fix them as quickly as possible.

For the best experience, use a tablet or PC.

Please triple-check all measurements and positions before placing your order.

Here's a complete guide to creating your perfect mount layout.

1. Setting the Board Size

The External Size of the mount board is set using the Width and Height boxes.
Enter your desired dimensions in millimetres (mm).
Maximum size allowed: 1118 x 815 mm.

2. Border Width & Gap

Border Width: This is the minimum space from the outer edge of the board to any aperture. Setting this creates a protected zone where apertures cannot be placed.
Gap: This is the minimum space required between any two apertures.

3. Creating Apertures

Use the Add New Apertures section to create apertures quickly.
Enter the Width, Height, and Quantity you need, then click Add.
You can add multiple apertures of the same size in one go.

4. Editing & Positioning Apertures

Any aperture can be dragged to reposition it.
Click on an aperture to select it (it will show a thick blue border).
While selected, you can:
- Copy and Paste it using the control buttons or keyboard shortcuts (Ctrl+C / Ctrl+V).
- Nudge it precisely using the arrow buttons (moves 1 mm in any direction).
- Delete it with keyboard key.
As you drag an aperture, its colour will change:
- Green = Valid position (meets border and gap requirements).
- Red = Invalid position (too close to the edge or another aperture).

Tip: Alignment guidelines will automatically appear when two apertures are centred horizontally or vertically with each other.

5. Board & Layout Tools

Resize To Layout - Automatically trims any unused space from the board while keeping all apertures in their current positions.
Auto Layout - Automatically arranges all apertures for you with optimal spacing.
Undo / Redo - Available to correct any mistakes.

6. Saving & Loading Your Design

We strongly recommend you Save your design regularly to avoid losing work (saved locally in your browser).
Click Load to restore a previously saved design.
Use Clear if you want to start completely fresh.

7. Exporting Your Layout

You can output your finished layout in several ways:

PDF - Print or download a clean PDF of the layout.
Email - Send the design directly to an email address.
Gallery - Save the design to your online Robzanna gallery.

8. Finishing Your Design

Recommended workflow:

Add all your apertures.
Roughly position them where you want them.
Use Resize To Layout and/or Auto Layout to tidy everything up.
Make any final fine adjustments.
When you're happy with the layout, click Open Framer.

This will transfer your complete layout into the main Frame & Mount Designer, where you can add a frame, choose mount colours, and finalise your order.
